Ferocious Turbulence and The Mind
“Even in the midst of the most ferocious turbulence in the ocean, once you descend beneath the surface you will find no turbulence, just gentle undulation… The mind is similar” – Jon Kabat-Zinn
According to Jon Jabat-Zinn, “Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way; on purpose, in the present moment and non-judgementally.” Mindfulness practitioners learn how to pay attention on purpose by practicing specially developed Mindfulness meditation practices and mindful movements. In learning the skill of being ‘mindful’ you can calm your thoughts, control emotions and improve your sense of wellbeing. Here are five reasons to give mindful meditation a go:
1. Understand your pain
2. Lower your stress
3. Connect better with yourself and those around you
4. Improve focus and clarity
5. Reduce brain chatter
Here at Alchemy in Motion we offer Mindful Meditation workshops. Our first workshop begins this Saturday 5th March at 9:00am. Please see attached photo for details.
