Practitioner Profile
Olya completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy studies in 2006 at the University of South Australia and swiftly left for sunny Queensland to start her first job in private practice and fulfil her dream of living on the beach and learning to surf!
She has since then moved around Australia many times, living and working in Bundaberg, Warrnambool Victoria, and regional South Australia in both public and private hospitals and private practice in many fields, including musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, general and cardiac rehabilitation and women’s health, before taking some time to travel overseas and spending some time back in her birth land in Russia.
Since coming back to Australia in 2011 Olya has been living in regional South East Queensland, starting her first solo private practise called Holistic Physiotherapy in a little town called Millmerran, and moving to Pittsworth a few years later to continue her private practice and take on a contract to care for her many ‘adopted grandparents’ at a local retirement village.
Olya has 3 young daughters, who undoubtedly continue to be her biggest life teachers and have ignited her passion for caring for women transitioning their motherhood journey. It is through her own motherhood challenges of navigating post natal burnout and caring for her youngest daughter through a cleft palate repair journey that she found herself of the path of yoga and the mind-body-spirit connection, and has not looked back, obtaining her yoga teacher training qualifications in 2015 and teaching classes in the community ever since.
Olya integrates her holistic approach and deep compassion for women and men of all ages and walks of life through her work, teaching people to reconnect their mind, body and soul and regain their sense of wellness and freedom from pain through established and emerging evidence-based practice techniques.
Olya is currently undergoing further postgraduate training in women’s health and pelvic floor care in addition to internal professional development and training at Alchemy to ensure that she is providing a high level of evidence-based care for her patients.
When not working, you’ll find Olya with her family at the beach or out in nature, gardening, hiking, studying traditional Ayurvedic medicine, cooking up a storm or joining a local dance event.
